Eating: Pizzetta 211
When I visited Pizzetta 211 I found myself asking, “What’s that saying again?” I think it goes something like, “Pizza is a girl’s best friend” — right?
Pizzetta 211 is the perfect spot to spend time with that best friend, giggling about recent happenings and dreaming about potential futures. This is the perfect date spot for your bestie or beau; 6 small tables inside, a few bar stools at the pizza-making counter, and a few small tables outside, this spot is charming and intimate. Nestled in-between quiet neighborhood streets of the Inner and Outer Richmond, this pizza shop has a quaint wine-country charm and a menu filled with exquisite pizzas. Two chefs in a small open air kitchen, work away quietly as a lone waitress roams effortlessly between the tables, keeping a sleepy, relaxed atmosphere.
Diners can choose from six Pizzetta 211 pies made from the freshest ingredients, three of which rotate bi-weekly. The dough delivers a thin, crunchy crust with a little chew and avoids any sogginess factor that can overtake some less resident thin crust pies. One of their trademark pizzas is a white pizza with savory rosemary, pine nuts, and fiore sardo cheese, and the restaurant will always feature one pizza with an egg on it (ALWAYS get this). The menu also showcases a “cheese salad,” aka a selection of cheeses centered around a side salad and cluster of walnuts.
Two disappeared pies later, my bestie and I couldn’t decide which pizza had been the favorite of our meal. A true sign that you can’t go wrong at Pizzetta 211.
