ADVENTURE: The Eat Drink SF food festival! // EATING: Unlimited food from 35+ restaurants, and pours of 70+ different beverages // CRAVE: Hand rolls at Pabu!
Eat Drink SF is the one food festival you can’t miss in San Francisco.
The whole event is sheer insanity of tastes, bites, sips and fun. There are literally hundreds of amazing restaurants, bars, artisans and brands all showcasing their best eats under one (huge) roof!
Eat Drink SF happens in August every year, taking place over four days with four different sessions of feasting at the Fort Mason Pavillion. There are evening sessions on Friday and Saturday, and day sessions on Saturday and Sunday. Each session is about three hours and features around 35 different food samples and over 70 different kinds of drinks (beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, teas, milkshakes — everything!).
Bonus: You can get everything started early with their Taco Knockdown on Thursday where 12 chefs compete in a cooking battle for the “taco” title and bartenders compete for the best margarita.
The restaurants and bars at each session are different so you could easily spend your entire weekend at the event and try something different at each segment of the event. There are also a few culinary stages with different chefs explaining different cuisines, foods, and cooking methods. Basically you are in an episode of Top Chef.
Probably the best part — EVERYTHING is included in your ticket once you get in! No paying for cocktails, no limits on samples, and no drink tokens. Go back and grab seconds on anything you love (I sure did), and enjoy exploring everything there is to offer!
This year I attended the Saturday Evening Grand Tasting Session and enjoyed so many bites! Check out a peek of what the festival looks like below!
Amazing to get cocktails from Whitechapel without needing to battle the crowds that are always at the actual bar in the Tenderloin!
These ceviche bites were fabulous!
No lie — I had these simple grilled cheese and meat sandwiches six times. No shame!
Awesome little burrata and fruit scoops!
Culinary stage demo time!
This whiskey booth let you push a button that then emit the smell — such a cool way to understand the flavors better!
Yes, those are milkshakes.
Little fried, cinnamon donut puffs!
The awesome Super Duper truck with soft-serve cones, next to the Connect-4 and cornhole set up!
The event has a little bit of everything: education, games, socializing, and amazing food to cater to every kind of taste bud! Add this festival to your foodie calendars and make sure to check it out every year! Keep up to date with Eat Drink SF on their website here.
