ADVENTURE: Eating all of the things at the new Alta CA at the Minnesota Street Project // CRAVE: The amazing brown rice puffs and avocado dip!
Fans of Daniel Patterson’s Alta CA can now get their Cal-American fix all day at the restaurant’s second location at the Minnesota Street Project in Dogpatch.
Alta at MSP will offer an all-new dinner menu, as well as breakfast and lunch, from chef Matt Brimer in a relaxed, contemporary space with walnut tables, flattering lighting, and an open kitchen. Stop by during the day and grab a bite to go, or spend some time enjoying coffee and treats concocted by the former pastry chef of Coi. You’ll find that everything on the menu is fresh, seasonally driven, and executed with an artistic touch.
The Minnesota Street Project welcomes Alta CA to the neighborhood. The Mission Street Project is an area of the Dogpatch focused on supporting the contemporary artist community by offering affordable spaces for art galleries, artists, and nonprofits.
The open kitchen invites guests to take a look at what goes on behind the scenes of their meal.
The wooden walnut tables, chairs, and bar create warmth throughout Alta CA.
The beverage menu includes sparkling wine cocktails, juice blends, house-made cocktails, and a selection of canned beers.
The Pop Life cocktail is made with carpano bianco, blackberries, kina, and almond milk.
One of the tastiest appetizers! The light and pleasantly crunchy brown rice puffs are served with a creamy avocado and esplette dip.
Brimer’s creates a unique spin on your traditional deviled eggs, topping them with kimchee and furikake.
Another must-get is the grilled levain bread topped with dandelion fromage blanc, slice of peaches, and almonds.
Enjoy smoked black cod with slices of cucumber and endive over horseradish yogurt and topped with dill.
The handmade pasta in the tagliatelle dish is perfection. Served with summer squash, smoked maitake mushrooms, cured egg yolk, Parmesan, and basil.
Another gorgeous entree is the roasted chicken breast served with new potatoes and charred onion.
For the finale, make sure to try one of Alta CA’s speciality sundaes! You’ll be happy with the chocolate banana sundae with chocolate ice cream served over banana bread and topped with smoked peanuts and drizzles of dulce de leche.
