Eating: Le Marais Bakery
This place has a fantastic assortment of French pastries and dishes, all with a rich taste that is still light and flaky enough you think you can consume the entire patisserie case.
Le Marais has started the slow explanation of its bakery + brunch empire. The Marina is home to their original location, where you can enjoy breakfast items like avocado
toast croissant with an egg on top, quiche, and croque monsieur.
In an effort to bring more of their pastry magic to the neighborhoods of San Francisco, they’ve opened a second pop-up shop in Ghirardelli Square near the waterfront to up the hype of their soon to be 5,000 square foot full bakery and bistro in the same vicinity.
For now, if you visit their pop up location in Ghirardelli Square expect pastries, coffee, and a cute atmosphere, as well as macaroon heaven.
If you’re not exactly a macaroon fan, there’s also a variety of sandwiches, cookies, baguettes, beignets, and cakes.
