It’s official. The best new festival on the block is Colossal Clusterfest.
If you haven’t heard of this festival, it’s a three-day affair taking place in the heart of San Francisco, bringing the top comedic talent together for amazing performances. I didn’t know what to expect going in and found myself completely blown away at all of the things to do, see, and eat! If you’re planning on attending Colossal Clusterfest, here are five tips on how to make the most of your experience.
1. See All Of The Colossal Clusterfest Headliners
Even if you think one of them might not be worth your time, I strongly recommend giving yourself a chance to check them all out! I didn’t have any expectations seeing Kevin Hart or Bill Burr and found myself laughing till my face hurt! Trust me, they are headliners for a reason and you should take this chance to see some of the best comedic talent out there!
2. Explore The Awesome Interactive Stages & Sets
Colossal Clusterfest got super creative and made multiple interactive attractions for guests to engage with. They created a sprawling display of the world from Comedy Central’s South Park, set up a Paddy’s Bar to replicate FXX’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and recreated the set from Seinfeld.
In South Park, you can take photos with tons of character sets, grab a snack, or guess the number of purple balls in a giant inflatable jar.
Seinfeld had a restaurant set up to order from the Soup Nazi himself, as well as a Festivus Parade!
And Paddy’s Bar had awesome karaoke and trivia throughout the day.
3. Leave Time To Discover New Comedians
There is so, SO many good artists and comedians at this Colossal Clusterfest — don’t be afraid to check out someone you’ve never seen before! Sometimes I went early or late to a show I wanted to see and discovered another comedian who I would never have otherwise! We also stumbled across an amazing jazz band that kept us dancing forever! Make a point to go to some random acts because you can.
4. Grab Food At Off Times
The lines for food can get long around 5 PM to 7 PM, naturally when everyone is looking for a bite! If you’re looking to eat at this time, I recommend going in the middle of the set of a big performance going on at mainstage or in Bill Graham versus the breaks in between those bigger later performances. That, or approach it like me and just graze all day, trying a little of everything every few hours!
5. If You Love Wine, Go Straight To The Wine Tent!
Of course, everyone loves a little booze while they enjoy some comedy to really get the laughs going. The lines for beer, cocktails, and wine are all one in the same next to the food booths at Colossal Clusterfest and can be a decent wait. For those that like wine, however, you can skip all this madness by heading straight to the wine tent! They have amazing wineries and super short lines to help you snag a beverage faster and get on your way to the next show.
Overall, this festival is amazing and no matter what you do you will have fun. Already can’t wait for next year! Keep an eye on the Colossal Cluterfest website for news and updates on their next fest.
